We hear only those questions for which we are in a position to find answers.

~ Frederich Nietzsche ~

Tonight, my friend, as the world quiets and the full moon glows in the deep, dark sky, I have questions for you.  They may be rhetorical or not, as you see fit, but I hope you will find a moment to ponder one or two.

Is there something you came into this world to do?

And have you begun to do it?

Will you?  When?

What do you need help with?

Who might you ask for that help?

Who do you love?

And do you let them love you?

Is there anywhere you would rather be?

If so, can you get there soon?

Can you find a way to just be, once in a while?

What is the one thing that no one can do better than you?

In other words – what floats your boat?

I have found such wisdom, such love, such joy in being who I am…

I hope you will join me on this great adventure we call life.

It’s time.

you?

on waiting…

What, my friends, are you waiting for?

And do you need to wait any longer?

I wonder…

Wonder is the foundation of all philosophy, inquiry the process, ignorance the end.

~ Michel de Montaigne ~

Here is a list of what I am wondering about, first thing in the morning…

~ what will life be like when my daughter goes off to college in a year?

~ what can I do to make that easier on her? On me? On all of us?

~ will I ever fall into a pattern in my days?

~ do I need to?

~ can I write and paint and coach and travel and do good work?

~ why are all the power lines in northern Virginia above ground, given all the big old trees?

~ Is a messy workspace better than a neat one? Or vice versa?

~ does anyone have great ideas about what to make for dinner every night?

~ will I ever believe I am doing things well enough?

~ is consistency all that it’s cracked up to be?

~ why are we so sure that there is only one way to do things?

~ is the world shifting as quickly as I feel it is?

~ is any one way of doing things really that wrong? Anything that doesn’t actually do harm, of course…

~ what have we learned in the nearly ten years since 9/11?

~ how could anyone be so sure that they know what is better for another person than that person knows for themself?

~ how, exactly, does it feel to fly? Like a bird, not a plane…

~ does it matter if my possessions are organized?

~ it is possible to be right here, right now – every minute of the day? In our society? on this planet?

~ will the 2012 political campaigns learn anything from the past?

~ what on earth does my dog think about all day?

~ what will life be like when the first day of school doesn’t apply to our family anymore?

~ what would the world be like if we all believed we are good?

~ or that we are loved as we are?

~ or if we each really loved ourselves first?

And here is the big question – the one I ask myself every day:

How can I help bring us all to that point? To a place where we can love ourselves and others and in doing that, change the world?

Once again, you can thank Lindsey for getting me thinking… the woman has a way of making me reflect on things!
